Job Description
The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day logistics operations for import and export shipments in and out of Dubai. The role will involve working closely with various teams such as the customer care team, supply chain team, warehouse staff, trade compliance, and freight forwarders to ensure that shipments are dispatched on time and in compliance with regulations. The position will involve coordinating logistics activities and ensuring that all necessary documentation is in order to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.
Job Responsibilities
The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for arranging for the collection of shipments from vendors and factories using contracted forwarders. They will also handle the picking and shipping of sales orders once they have been released by the customer care and supply chain teams. Additionally, the Logistics Assistant will apply for the necessary shipment certificates and approvals to ensure that shipments can move smoothly and without delays. They will also work with the reconciliation team to obtain FANR approvals and handle VAT reconciliation. Additionally, this position will be responsible for preparing monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPI) and implementing continuous improvement programs.
Basic Qualifications
The position of Logistics Assistant requires a Bachelor's degree, and 0-3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management. This would be an entry-level position for someone who has recently graduated with a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, or someone with a few years of experience in a logistics or supply chain role. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of logistics operations, and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to coordinate shipments, manage logistics activities, and implement continuous improvement programs.
Preferred Qualifications
The position of Logistics Assistant requires a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain or logistics, and fluency in English, both written and verbal. This is an essential requirement for this position as the individual will be responsible for coordinating logistics activities and communicating with various teams and stakeholders, including suppliers, customers and freight forwarders. The Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics will provide the candidate with the foundational knowledge of logistics, procurement and supply chain management, which will be needed to excel in this role. The fluency in English, both written and verbal, will be needed to communicate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
